Inspired by Vermont, a special place like no other. When I think of Vermont I imagine a gray sky, the smell of wet earth, firewood burning, and bread baking. There's something different about the light in Vermont, being that it's high in the northern hemisphere, the shadows are pronounced, creating sonorous vignettes that highlight pops of pure color, reminiscent of oil lamps.
The colors in this quilt are hand-dyed: gray is made with logwood, deep rust made with cutch, teal made from indigo & osage
naturally dyed linen, machine pieced, hand-quilted with sashiko thread
