It all started when I made a star quilt block, using scraps of indigo fabric, and stitched it onto the back of my vintage chambray shirt. The creative director at Levis, Jay Carroll, took notice and sent me a couple dozen western denim shirts to adorn with quilt patches and stitches. I made so many I lost count. Here's a few examples I wrangled up to show you.
