Workshops
Foundations in Quiltmaking
In April, we’ll explore one of quilting’s most classic and versatile patchwork forms: the square-in-a-square block. This foundational unit builds accuracy through repetition while developing your eye for proportion, alignment, and confident corner-to-corner sewing.
Using an accessible stitch-and-trim method, you’ll learn how value, color placement, and construction order work together to create a block that feels crisp and intentional. With each round, your skills build—this block is a quiet teacher of precision without overwhelm.
Foundations in Quiltmaking
Join me for an in-person workshop in May just outside Austin. We’ll explore two foundational quilt blocks at the heart of American quiltmaking: Log Cabin and Courthouse Steps. You’ll learn essential skills like accurate strip piecing and consistent seam allowances, and complete at least one block (or begin both, if time allows). Leave with the confidence to continue piecing these timeless structures at home.
Engaging the Senses
Over four days, we’ll gather in a quiet, wooded setting to explore a sensory approach to creativity through hands-on making, herbal crafting, time in nature, and sound. The days are gently structured, leaving room for rest, reflection, and your own pace.
This is a small-group experience designed to support a deeper connection to your creative process—grounded in place, material, and attention.
HANDMADE MATTERS
Join us this August in upstate New York for a weekend workshop with Katrina Rodabaugh, held in her barn studio in the Hudson Valley. Together we’ll gather for handwork—quilting, mending, and stitching—moving between making, shared meals, and time in the gardens.
This is an immersive, small-group experience rooted in handcraft, material awareness, and creative intuition. Over the course of the weekend, we’ll explore ways of working that honor process, place, and the quiet rhythm of making.
Folk Fibers Guidebook
This is a self-paced on demand video workshop for making a quilt from start to finish. Breaking down the process in 10 chapters with detailed step-by-step videos. I share tips learned from years of quilting, links to buy supplies, and much more. All skill levels welcome.
