Custom Watch Beds (Private Commission)
Watch Beds (Private Commission)
This series of sixteen watch beds was created as a private commission for a team at Audemars Piguet — small resting places for timepieces, made to be lived with daily.
Hand-constructed from natural linen and cotton and backed with soft suede, each piece is built from bands of color and shifting geometry. The compositions draw from historic patchwork traditions of the American South, including Seminole patchwork, approached here through a lens of material study and reinterpretation.
No two are alike. Each holds its own rhythm.
The AP monogram is chain-stitched by Fort Lonesome, adding a final layer of handwork and collaboration.
4.5" × 4.5" each, these watch beds are both functional and intimate — a place for something precise to come to rest on something made slowly, by hand.
