• Georgia Quilt

  • The color pallet represents the cultural diversity in the southern US state of Georgia.

A take on the traditional 9 block quilt pattern, rounding the blocks corners for a visual effect. I hand-dyed the dark blue color with natural indigo, diped in the dye bath 5 times to achieve a deep dark indigo blue. Creating a subtle contrast between the kona cotton black, and a stark contrast with the unbleached muslin.

Machine pieced and hand quilted with japanese sashiko thread.

60 inches by 60 inches (5 feet wide and 5 feet tall).
